Assists physician(s) or mid-level provider(s) in patient care, exhibiting straightforward decision making skills. Provides quality patient care, both in the office and over the telephone, as directed by Physician, Mid-Level Provider or Practice Management. Performs clerical and general office duties based on knowledge of medical practice procedures and policies.
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred
Physician Practice Experience preferred
Computer Literacy preferred
Primary understanding of Medical Terminology/ Anatomy required
Ability to perform basic vital signs and take brief history required
Ability to perform basic tests related to practice specialty required
Familiarity with CPT and ICD9 Coding preferred
CPR -- Required w/in 90 days
Phlebotomy Certification -- Required (if applicable to particular office)
