Providence is calling a Director Risk Management to Providence Health Care in Spokane, Washington.
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for organizing, coordinating, directing and implementing the risk management plan for Providence Health Care (PHC).
The position has direct responsibility for all risk management and patient relations at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital, Providence Holy Family Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and PHC Providence Medical Group.
The director of Risk Management/Patient Relations measures and evaluates clinical risk and safety issues as well as trends and patterns throughout PHC. They also coordinate and track the grievence process to ensure timely response. As director, with assistance from the Providence St. Joseph's Health Risk Management leadership, identifies, evaluates and mitigates risks that detract from optimal patient care and safety. The director serves as a liaison representative to professional liability insurance representatives and legal counsel to process and provide information pertinent to claims loss or potential/actual litigation.
The director of Risk Management & Patient Relations has a comprehensive understanding of management techniques, clinical care and process, performance improvement methodology, risk management and adult education principles, as well as regulatory and accreditation standards, statistical analysis, systems analysis, and information management in order to assure effective program management.
In addition, the director of risk management leads and/or participates in selected quality and safety committees/processes as appropriate.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Minimum 5 years clinical risk management experience in large acute care system and/or ambulatory setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing, Business or related field or Juris Doctor (JD) Degree preferred
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington preferred
Certification in Health Care Risk Management preferred
