This is a doctoral level position providing psychological assessments, consultations and limited treatment in a Developmental Medicine Clinic at a children’s hospital. The setting currently consists of one Doctoral-level Psychologist, one Licensed Psychological Associate and one Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician. Services are also provided for psychiatry, nephrology, neurology and other medical subspecialties. Most services occur in the outpatient clinic with some inpatient consultations. Patients include children from infancy through adolescence with multi-domain problems like Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD with delays, language or specific learning problems, sleep, behavior problems and other Neurodevelopmental disorders. Additional presenting problems include mood, anxiety disorders, coping with chronic medical conditions. Supervision of master’s level psychological associate, teaching practicum students are additional responsibilities.
eligible for licensure as psychologist or currently licensed as psychologist in Texas
doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or related field from an APA-accredited program
pre-doctoral internship from an APA-accredited program
specialty training in child clinical or pediatric psychology
familiarity working in a multi-disciplinary health care setting
training and experience in administering, interpreting and report writing involving psychological assessment of cognitive, achievement, emotional functioning for ages 2-18
specialized training and experience in assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders and in utilizing the ADOS-2
ability to work sensitively and compassionately with a variety of personalities.
participate in quality assurance review and EMR record keeping.
Spanish language fluency and Hispanic cultural knowledge is a plus.
