This position is in the CERI administrative team, which provides support to the Emergency Medicine Research division and collaborates with multiple academic departments. We have an opening for a Grants Manager with expertise in research administration.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine is a national leader in emergency care research. Led by 8 core faculty and an extensive research infrastructure, we are top leaders in designing innovative ED-based research and are top enrollers in both industry and federally funded studies. Our research staff actively screens patients over 100 hours each week in the emergency departments at VUMC and the Tennessee Valley Hospital. Combined, these Eds see over 100,000 patients each year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist faculty in preparing and assembling grants proposals/contracts in compliance with sponsor, University, and federal guidelines and deadlines.
Assist Principal Investigator (PI) in determining requirements, deadlines and time management for responses to PAs/RFAs or general application submission in a proactive manner. Coordinate multiple applications under absolute deadlines.
Work in a collaborative manner with the PI and the Office of Research, throughout the application process to achieve a professional document for submission.
Interact with other departments and agencies to facilitate the development, submission, and administration of grant proposals.
Responsible for tracking and receiving confirmation of submitted application from Grants and Contracts sponsor.
Provide outside departments with biosketches, other support and ancillary data as requested.
Responsible for processing progress reports to Grants and Contracts for review and final submission via Coeus and/or paper.
Responsible for completing JIT packages for review and approval.
Serve as a resource to investigators.
Keep abreast of new/updated agency policies, procedures, deadlines and timeframes of new initiatives.
Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities and forward as appropriate
Attend training offered by the Office of Research and read relevant online/published materials
Assist with researching, analyzing, preparing, and reconciling data for grants budgets in compliance with sponsor, University, and federal guidelines and deadlines.
Collaborate with CERI financial team to manage grant budgets.
Partner with other departments to resolve budgetary issues
Prepare various forms, contracts and requisitions.
Prepare progress reports to the PI detailing personnel, effort allocation and overall expenses.
Prepare financial reports and approve transactions.
Responsible for both pre- and post- award activities.
This is a full-time position.
Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
