Title: Residency Program Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona at Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC)

Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona (DHMG-AZ) is actively seeking an experienced leader and visionary to serve as Residency Program Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology in East Valley Phoenix at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC) and Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Ideal candidates will have strong experience in administrative, educational, and clinical services, will be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, will have an unrestricted Arizona medical license and 3+ years of educational experience. This candidate will report directly to the Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, DHMG-AZ. The Program Director will be provided with the salary support required to devote 50 percent FTE of non-clinical time to the administration of the program. CommonSpirit Health is large, multi-state hospital system. CommonSpirit is developing a Graduate Medical Education program at its hospitals in Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona, with plans to also have OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, and Emergency Medicine residency programs starting in 2023 and 2024. Dignity Health Medical Groups focus, in partnership with Mercy Gilbert Medical Center a community hospital, and Chandler Regional Medical Center, a tertiary care hospital in suburban Phoenix, is driven around being leaders in medical education, centered on evidence-based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communications within the medical staff and the surrounding community.
Managing the ACGME application and certification process
Day-to-day oversight of the OB/GYN residency program
Maintain ongoing certification and compliance with ACGME RRC requirements
Provide leadership and guidance to residents
Be a role model of professionalism
Clinical Teaching and Supervision of Residents
Ensure the programs compliance with institutional policies and procedures and ACGME requirements
Managing the academic faculty and clinical program
Working with other departments and other clinical sites to develop and maintain appropriate clinical and educational rotations for the residents
GME Lectures/Teaching Conferences
Resident Recruitment and Selection
GME Research/Scholarly Activity
Evaluation and Promotion of Residents
Additionally, Leadership recognizes the role in establishing a culture of safety that minimizes hazards and patient harm by focusing on processes of care. Emphasizing patient safety in maternal health is an organizational priority; providing education to medical and hospital staff regarding the commitment to reduction of medical errors, improving health care outcomes and integrating best practices into the care model; and integrating patient safety priorities into the new design and redesign of all relevant organization processes, functions, and services in the obstetrical units. This provider will facilitate adherence to national practitioner and nursing OB clinical standards and promotes OB patient safety and quality. They will provide formal and informal OB safety education. Participation in the OB Units goals and objectives and active involvement in OB safety and quality decisions are expected. They will actively participate in OB committees related to safety and quality. Proactively liaises with Risk Management and the Department Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Chief Medical Officer/VPMA, Director of Quality, and the Chief Nursing Officer regarding OB safety and quality issues identification, adverse events, and OB safety and quality initiatives.
MD or DO Degree and Board Certification in ABOG of AOBOG
3+ years of Proven Clinical & Administrative educational experience
Experience as an assistant/associate PD or site director
Clinical responsibilities within the previous 3 years
Proven track record in clinical and/or basic science research with documented publications
Must have or be eligible for Arizona State medical licensure
Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Advanced management degree (MBA, MHA) preferred but not required
Ability to travel to as needed

Chandler Regional Medical Center is a full-service, 429-bed acute care hospital located 25 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix. It has approximately 78,000 emergency department annual visits and is a level 1 trauma center with over 5000 trauma activations annually. It is a primary stroke center, has cardiovascular and cardiac surgery services, and neurosurgery. CRMC has received the Health Care Leadership Award for Hospital of the Year and #1 Acute Care Hospital in 2013 from AZ Business Magazine.
Combined, our East Valley facilities deliver 6,500 babies/year with growth anticipated with the opening of the Women & Childrens Pavilion.
