The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Academic Breast Surgeon to be the Section Chief and Medical Director of the Breast Surgery program located in Chicago's western suburbs, Illinois.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to practice with a multi-disciplinary oncology team, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, breast radiologists, pathologists, and a genetic counselor in providing comprehensive consultative and therapeutic care to patients with surgical disease of the breast. The clinical responsibilities are to be a surgical leader and member of the team with a base at Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC), in addition to ultimately supporting sites within Loyola Medicine. Responsibilities include administrative leadership, the full spectrum of breast surgical care, and teaching at resident and student levels. Diverse research opportunities are available and encouraged at the translational, basic science and clinical levels.
Candidates must be at the associate professor or professor level. Additionally, the candidate must be Board Certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology. Administrative leadership experience is preferred.
