Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Clinical Fellowship
In this two year MFM fellowship at California Maternal Fetal Medicine, the fellow will gain broad experience in the MFM clinical arena. The field of maternal fetal medicine is constantly evolving and the fellow will learn from Dr. Ali the latest evidence-based treatments and invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures, using the most comprehensive diagnostic tools available. The fellow will help evaluate and manage a wide variety of maternal fetal disorders. This fellowship is designed to assist fellows to get into accredited 3-year MFM fellowship programs.
Highlights of this MFM fellowship program include:
Familiarizing the fellow with management of high risk pregnancy
Expanding the fellow's understanding of the use of fetal ultrasonography in the evaluation of various fetal malformations and syndromes
Participating in cervical cerclage procedures
Participating in prenatal diagnostic procedures including chorionic villous sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS), and fetal transfusion

Prerequisites for application
Completion of recognized OB-GYN residency program
Eligibility for California state licensure
Curriculum Training is conducted at the California Maternal Fetal Medicine center and Mercy San Juan Medical Center. During training, fellows will participate in a variety of educational and clinical components, including:
Evaluation and diagnosis of a wide variety of maternal medical complications, fetal malformations, and fetal genetic syndromes
Inpatient and outpatient care of high-risk pregnancies
Pre- and post-op care of patients undergoing cervical cerclage
