Orlando Health Cancer Institute's department of Supportive and Palliative care is seeking Palliative Medicine Physicians for its outpatient supportive and palliative care center. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing program in a cancer center with multiple locations in the Orlando area. The ideal candidate should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Palliative Medicine with an interest in continuity of care with patients facing cancer and cancer treatment related symptoms. Our interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers provide high quality clinical care to patients with a broad spectrum of hematology and oncology diagnoses. Expected skills and responsibilities include:
Provide consultation in palliative care, symptom management and supportive care to meet the needs of the patient as requested by the referring physician.
Facilitate and clarify goals of treatment for patients and families. Provide guidance in advanced care planning including review of appropriate documentation and resuscitation preferences.
Educate facility staff, residents, fellows, patients, and the community on all aspects of palliative care.
Expected future growth includes expansion beyond exclusively cancer diagnoses to also include all other appropriate chronic medical conditions warranting supportive and palliative care referral.
